The Chelbesa washing station is directly supported by 486 smallholder farms, which grow their coffee in semi-forest conditions. farmers prune and tend to naturally growing trees in the forest made up of mostly local landrace varieties or from trees grown near a farmer’s residence with cultivated JARC selections. By sourcing exclusively from these farms, SNAP Exporters is able to give farmers access to premium pricing through the specialty market.
